Samplepack HPLC sample filtration Whatman™ Cytiva

Sample filtration is a crucial step in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to remove particles, impurities and undissolved solids from the sample before it is applied to the column. Careful filtration protects the HPLC column from clogging and damage, improves the reproducibility of the analysis and ensures sharp, clearly defined peaks. Depending on the type of sample and solvent, various syringe filters or membrane filters are used, which can be chemically resistant, hydrophilic or hydrophobic and have the lowest possible protein binding and low extract values.

Whatman™ SPARTAN™ non-sterile syringe filters made from regenerated cellulose (RC)
They enable reliable and reproducible sample filtration for HPLC and UHPLC applications thanks to their hydrophilic, low-protein membrane made from regenerated cellulose with high chemical resistance.

Whatman™ regenerated cellulose (RC) membrane filters
They offer high chemical resistance, low extract and protein binding values and are suitable for aqueous and organic samples, including difficult-to-filter, highly viscous materials, thanks to integrated pre-filters.

Whatman™ GD/X non-sterile syringe filters made of regenerated cellulose (RC)
These are high-viscosity filters with an integrated pre-filter for efficient filtration of viscous and
solid-rich samples. Thanks to their borosilicate glass pre-filter and RC membrane, they enable the
filtration of larger sample volumes with less effort and are autoclavable.

Whatman™ Puradisc™ non-sterile PTFE syringe filters
They feature a hydrophobic, chemically inert PTFE membrane with low protein binding and are mainly suitable for the filtration of non-aqueous samples. For aqueous samples, the membrane must first be pre-wetted with a water-miscible organic solvent.
